Teenager’s leg severed after falling from roof of moving train

A teenager’s right leg was severed after falling from the roof of a moving train in Chittagong. The accident occurred on the Meghna Express train bound for Chittagong at around 8:45 am on Monday (June 16). The identity of the injured teenager is not yet known.

On receiving the information, Sitakunda Railway Police and Fire Service members reached the spot. Fire Service personnel rescued him at around 10 am and took him to Sitakunda Upazila Health Complex. Later, as his condition deteriorated, he was sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
According to eyewitnesses, Sitakunda Fire Service Station Leader Ahmed Hossain said that while running from one compartment to another on the roof of the moving train, the teenager fell down and his right leg was cut off by the train’s wheels.
Railway Police’s SI Ashraf Siddiqui said, “The teenager’s leg was severed after falling from the train. However, his name and identity are not known.
