Nusrat Faria in court
Actress Nusrat Faria has been taken to court. She was taken to the CMM Court in Dhaka on Monday (May 19) morning. She was arrested at the airport while going to Thailand.
Actress Nusrat Faria was questioned at the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DB) office yesterday (May 18).
Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed this information to the media.
He said that there is a case of attempt to murder against actress Nusrat Faria at Bhatara Police Station. Due to this, she was arrested while going abroad.
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman also said that the actress’s interrogation at DB has been completed. He also said that she will be produced in court today, Monday.
Actress Faria was going to Thailand on a Bangladesh Biman flight from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Sunday (May 18). But the immigration police stopped her from traveling abroad and detained her.
Actress Faria is the accused in a murder attempt case that took place in the Bhatara police station area of the capital during the 2024 anti-discrimination movement. Apart from the actress, 16 other showbiz stars have been accused in the case.
The case, filed by plaintiff Enamul Haque, claims that former Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina and 283 people associated with her government and 3-400 unidentified people stood against the anti-discrimination movement. Not only that, the accused worked as financial backers of the Awami League.
