Protests by holding passengers hostage are regrettable: Advisor

Regarding the strike by railway running staff, the ministry’s advisor Muhammad Fauzul Kabir Khan said, “There may be demands. But the movement by stopping trains and holding passengers hostage is regrettable.”

He called for the strike to be withdrawn and said, “Discussions are underway with the Finance Department regarding the demands.”

He told reporters at the capital’s Kamalapur Railway Station on Tuesday morning.

Fauzul Kabir Khan said, “The Railway Ministry has nothing to do in this regard, which the Finance Ministry will have to do. Discussions are underway, a solution will be found.”

As per the previous announcement, railway running staff have been observing a strike across the country since 12 midnight on Monday. And train services across the country have been suspended.

As a result, the suffering of passengers who come to the station with their families in the winter has reached its peak.
